Medium severityExpert Guide

What Your Machine Is Actually Telling You

F09 means overflow protection activated — water exceeded the maximum safe level. The machine will attempt to drain immediately.

This is an emergency code.

Common causes:
1. Inlet valve stuck open (35%).
2. Pressure sensor fault (20%).
3. CCU valve relay (10%).
4. Siphoning (10%).
5. Pressure tube clogged (10%).
6. Excessive suds (10%).
7. Residual water (5%).

What You're Probably Seeing Right Now

  • Water level visibly high.
  • Machine draining continuously.
  • Water still entering.
  • Water on the floor.

DIY Fix — From Easiest to Hardest

1

Turn Off Water (Immediately)

1. Close BOTH taps.
2. Let machine drain.
3. Mop up overflow.
2

Check for Siphoning (3 minutes)

1. Drain hose needs air gap.
2. Max 6-8 inches into standpipe.
3. Height: 24-36 inches.
3

Test Inlet Valve (5 minutes)

With taps closed, unplug. Open taps — does water enter?
- Yes = valve stuck, replace ($25-60).
- No = electrical issue.
4

Check Pressure System (10 minutes)

1. Check tube for clogs.
2. Blow test.
3. Test switch — click on blow?

When to Call a Pro

  • Inlet valve — $80-$200.
  • CCU relay — $200-$500.
